New Latin Wave / NLW Presents

Dedicated to celebrating the most current and compelling Latine voices, New Latin Wave is a multidisciplinary platform for Latine arts and culture that seeks to open conversations about Latine contributions and identity in the US.  Was created by Amanda Riesman and Sokio.

We showcase Latine artists and culture-makers working outside of the mainstream and we are a resource for discovery and exchange for those within and outside the Latine arts community in NYC and beyond. Our mission is to generate opportunities for greater and more diverse visibility and representation; to empower creators; to incubate emerging talent; and to build a network of collaborators, cultural producers, venues and institutions that support artist and audience development.  New Latin Wave started as a series of ad hoc cultural and discursive events, including concerts, exhibitions and panel discussions, evolved into a now annual one-day festival in Brooklyn, and launched a podcast spotlighting the Latine cultural multiverse.

Between September 2016 and March 2021, the New Latin Wave Arts Festival had 3 in person editions, and 1 online version, featuring more than 350+ Latine artists and creatives, and  attended by 11000+ people. We are pleased to announce the 3rd annual New Latin Wave Festival taking place September 30th at Brooklyn Bazaar in Greenpoint. Now in its third year, New Latin Wave is a full-fledged platform elevating some of the most compelling Latinx voices in art, music, literature, and film. We invite audiences to support, engage, and learn from our featured lineup of multi-disciplinary talent in the special one day festival. In addition to the Book & Zine Fair, the Video Art and Media Art exhibits and the Cinema program running all day long.
